The Women in Motion (WIM) Council of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), focused on supporting women in the trucking industry, together with Trucker Path unveiled the top three service areas tailored to the needs of women drivers.
Following WIM’s criteria, which are aimed at promoting policies and initiatives that encourage female participation in the industry and foster safe spaces for their development, the ratings assigned to these service areas reflect these principles.

The results are based on feedback shared by female drivers on the Trucker Path platform. The three locations were selected based on seven key features:
- Well-lit parking
- Well-lit restroom access
- Well-lit rest areas
- Well-lit showers
- Well-lit laundry facilities
- 24/7 maintenance service
- On-site security

Based on feedback collected from women drivers through Trucker Path, the top three service areas for female truckers are:
- Compass Travel Center in DeMotte, Indiana (also ranked #25 on Trucker Path’s Top 100 Truck Stops list)
- Garden Inn Truck Plaza in Mound City, Missouri
- Talent Truck Stop in Talent, Oregon
Nikki Thomas, Vice President of Industry Affairs at the American Trucking Associations, stated that one of Women in Motion’s key goals is to increase the number of places where women truck drivers can safely stop and rest while on the road. “We congratulate the top-rated service areas that have focused on this important goal and thank Trucker Path for helping make the road safer for women drivers,” Thomas added in WIM’s official statement.
Services such as well-lit parking, restroom access, and on-site security are more than just matters of convenience; they are essential to ensuring women’s well-being, Thomas explained, emphasizing WIM’s core mission.

Safe spaces for women in the trucking industry
Platforms like Trucker Path play a crucial role in the trucking industry by allowing both service area operators and drivers to be heard directly. This not only helps identify the safest locations but also highlights areas for improvement. According to WIM’s statement, women drivers consistently point to access to secure parking as their primary challenge.
“The WIM section of the Trucker Path app has received more than 64 million views, and that number continues to grow every day,” said Chris Oliver, Chief Marketing Officer at Trucker Path, in WIM’s statement. The overwhelming demand for the app clearly indicates that women rely on this information to succeed in the industry.
“We are proud to use our platform to help WIM reach and support women drivers,” Oliver concluded.
