Country music star Carrie Underwood will perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration along with the 1970s hitmakers Village People will perform at two inaugural events.
Donald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025. The inauguration ceremony, to be held on the steps of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C., will also see Vice President-elect J.D. Vance taking the oath of office. The event marks the beginning of a new chapter in the White House and promises a blend of tradition and celebration.
The inauguration is the formal ceremony marking the end of one president’s term and the start of their successor’s administration. A key part is the president-elect reciting the oath of office, affirming their commitment to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution. While Donald Trump won the election in November, he officially becomes the 47th president after taking the oath. He had previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. Similarly, Vance will take an oath to assume the vice presidency.

Who’s performing at the 2025 Presidential Inauguration?
The ceremony will feature a series of distinguished performances and activities. According to The Spectator World, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln combined chorus will deliver a musical prelude, followed by a performance from the US Marine Marching Band. US Senator Amy Klobuchar, Chair of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, will officially call the ceremony to order. After an invocation, the main events will commence.
Vice President-elect Vance will be sworn in first by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. This will be followed by a rendition of “America the Beautiful,” performed by Grammy-award-winning artist Carrie Underwood, accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the Naval Academy Glee Club.
Carrie Underwood, who rose to fame on “American Idol,” expressed her pride in participating in this historic occasion. Known for hits like “Inside Your Heaven,” “Jesus Take the Wheel,” and “Before He Cheats,” the Oklahoma native’s performance is set to be a highlight of the ceremony.

Inauguration day procedure and celebrations
President-elect Trump will then take the oath of office, administered by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. Following his swearing-in, Trump will deliver his inaugural address, setting the tone for his presidency.
The ceremony will conclude with a benediction by faith leaders and the National Anthem performed by classical vocalist Christopher Macchio. Macchio, known for his performances at several right-leaning events, has been a recurring figure in Trump’s political journey.
Celebrations don’t end there. The Village People, famous for 1970s hits like “Y.M.C.A.” and “Macho Man,” will perform at two inaugural events, including a ball and a rally. They emphasized that their participation is not a political endorsement but a gesture to bring people together through music. Other notable performers include country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio, both long-time favorites of the former president.
Pre-inauguration events will also set the stage for the grand ceremony. On January 19, Trump will host a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” in Washington, D.C. Turning Point USA will hold an Inaugural Eve Ball, featuring appearances by Vice President-elect Vance, Donald Trump Jr., and other key figures from Trump’s camp
