Winter Storm Aftermath (Pennsylvania / New York / New England) A massive winter storm that swept across the Northeast over the weekend continues to impact travel. Snow removal and ice-control operations are ongoing on key corridors, especially in Pennsylvania and parts of New York, where deep snow and sub-zero temperatures severely disrupted road traffic.

Commercial Vehicle Restrictions – New York State In response to severe winter conditions, New York has restricted all commercial vehicles to right-lane travel on state highways and the Thruway. A travel ban for long combination tandem vehicles remains in effect on the Thruway to improve safety and traffic flow during winter operations.

Atlanta & North Georgia icy conditions Metro Atlanta and North Georgia are dealing with lingering ice on secondary and untreated roads after a winter storm. Major multi-lane highways like I-20 and the Stone Mountain Freeway are generally clear, but side streets and feeder routes remain hazardous.

Georgia school closures reflect road hazards Numerous counties across Georgia have closed schools and halted bus routes due to icy and unsafe road conditions, particularly on secondary rural roads, signaling continuing traction issues for freight movement.

Texas – Overnight freeze risk In the Houston area and surrounding counties, officials are urging caution for Tuesday morning travel as residual moisture may create icy patches on elevated road surfaces and bridges, especially on I-10 near Brazos River and northbound I-45 on the Galveston Causeway.

Water main delay incident in Michigan US 31 in Manistee, Michigan, experienced a significant detour due to a water main break on Jan. 26, but the route has since reopened with normal traffic restored.

Wind and closure risks on I-80/I-25 corridors (Wyoming) Sections of I-80 and I-25 in Wyoming are reporting dangerous winds and extreme blow-over risk, resulting in closures for high-profile vehicles and restrictions on heavy combinations in multiple segments. Slick and windy conditions remain hazardous in open plains areas.

California Highway Construction & Restrictions State Route 1 has overnight closures and one-way controlled traffic zones in Los Angeles and Mendocino Counties due to construction and washout repairs, with delays possible through early February.

Mountain Weather Hazards Persist Across high-elevation corridors (e.g., I-70 in the Rockies), icy patches and variable winter driving conditions are being reported, with traction advisories possible depending on overnight temperatures.
