Average diesel price increases again

This week's records show an increase in average diesel prices in all regions.

In recent weeks, we have observed diesel prices remaining stable, experiencing declines in most regions. This week, reports from ProMiles.com and the Energy Information Administration (EIA) indicate that more regions saw an increase in average diesel prices, contrary to what had been seen recently in the reports.

According to the ProMiles report, the national average diesel price stands at $3.866 dollars, while the EIA sets it at $3.899 dollars. The discrepancy between these prices is due to the number and type of service stations used to calculate the averages. ProMiles collects direct data from thousands of truck stops, while the EIA surveys 400 truck stops and convenience stores nationwide.

ProMiles reports an increase of 8.2 cents on the Gulf Coast, marking this as the most pronounced increase, while the East Coast sees an increase of only 3.5 cents, making it the region with the smallest increase. On the other hand, declines were observed in the Rocky Mountains and California regions, where prices remain the highest week after week.

The average price per gallon of diesel by region, according to the ProMiles report, is as follows:

Atlantic Low – $3.9 dollars
Central Atlantic – $4.305 dollars
California – $5.138 dollars
East Coast – $4.066 dollars
West Coast – $4.569 dollars
Gulf Coast – $3.66 dollars
Midwest – $3.643 dollars
Rocky Mountains – $3.563 dollars

On the other hand, the EIA report showed that the national price per gallon of diesel increased by 3.2 cents, up to $3.899 dollars. The EIA recorded the largest increase on the Gulf Coast, with 5.8 cents. The West Coast and California regions saw an increase of 4.3 cents.
