Major Highway Projects in 2025

Gordie Howe

International Bridge (Michigan – Canada)

One of the largest binational infrastructure projects, the Gordie Howe International Bridge, will provide a critical new connection between Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario. The $6.4 billion project is designed to facilitate trade and reduce congestion at the existing Ambassador Bridge. With six lanes and modern customs facilities, this bridge will significantly enhance North American commerce. It is set to open in late 2025.

Expansion of SR 400 (Atlanta, Georgia)

 

Atlanta’s growing population has necessitated significant upgrades to its highway system. The $4.6 billion expansion of SR 400 aims to alleviate traffic congestion by adding two express lanes over a 25-kilometer stretch. While full completion is projected for 2031, substantial progress will be made in 2025, improving commuter experiences in the region.

 

Texas Highway Infraestructure Investment

With a rapidly increasing population, Texas is undertaking one of the most extensive highway modernization efforts in U.S. history. The state has allocated $148 billion to enhance key highways, including the expansion of US 380 in McKinney and major upgrades to the I-30 corridor in Dallas. 1.       I-95 and US-1 Reconstruction (Florida)

In Florida, the reconstruction of the I-95 and US-1 interchange in Jacksonville is one of the most significant projects underway. Led by Ferrovial’s Webber subsidiary, this $74.5 million initiative will improve safety and traffic flow. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2025, benefiting thousands of daily commuters.
