This year, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week will be held from September 15 to 21. Organizations and companies in the trucking industry invite all Americans to show their appreciation for these drivers, whose dedication improves our quality of life and contributes to the progress of the country.
National Truck Driver Appreciation Week Celebrations
NTDAW highlights the daily importance and sacrifice of these workers and their impact on the U.S. economy. It’s the perfect time to express our gratitude for their dedication, commitment, and the numerous challenges they face in the industry. Here are some activities and rewards that companies will offer as part of the annual celebration to recognize truck drivers’ hard work:
Pilot’s annual “Road Warrior” contest
Throughout September, Pilot celebrates truck drivers with the slogan “Cheers to You,” offering free drinks, special deals, and the annual Road Warrior contest with a grand prize of $25,000. This year, Pilot invites people to nominate professional drivers they know. To participate, visit Pilot’s Facebook page and mention a driver in the weekly Road Warrior recognition post. Each week, a deserving driver will be selected based on nominations to win a $1,000 prize.
Love’s Travel Stops offers throughout September
Love’s Travel Stops is celebrating Truck Driver Appreciation Month with exclusive offers throughout September. Truck drivers can redeem these offers at Love’s locations using My Love Rewards and the Love’s Connect app. Starting September 1, My Love Rewards members will receive an email with the available offers and can easily activate them through the email or the Love’s Connect app.
ATA’s National Truck Driving Championship
The American Trucking Associations (ATA) organizes the National Truck Driving Championship (NTDC), a competition that dates back to 1937 when it was known as the National Truck Rodeo. The championship brings together winners from eight categories of state competitions. During the event, drivers showcase their skills through a written test, a pre-trip inspection, and a driving skills test. These annual competitions inspire many drivers to maintain safe driving practices for the chance to participate.
OOIDA and TAT’s giveaway
The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) has partnered with TAT for a celebration. Together, they will hold a Facebook giveaway to honor owner-operators. TAT and OOIDA will give away five Blue Tiger Storm hands-free headsets, thanks to a generous donation from Blue Tiger. The giveaway will be announced on the Facebook pages of both organizations on September 16, with participation open until Wednesday, September 18. Winners will be announced on Friday, September 20.
To join the celebration and thank truck drivers in the U.S., a social media campaign will be conducted using the hashtags #NTDAW24 and #ThankATrucker. Additional surprises and activities will be announced on the official NTDAW pages to honor the country’s truck drivers.
