A French politician demanded that the United States return the Statue, as he believes that under Donald Trump's leadership, the country is no longer worthy of the monument. Trump´s administration response: "It is because of the USA that they are not speaking German right now."
The french politician Raphaël Glucksmann demanded that the United States return the Statue of Liberty, as he believes that under Donald Trump’s leadership, the country is no longer worthy of the monument or the values it represents.
Glucksmann, a member of the European Parliament, stated in a speech that some Americans “have chosen to side with tyrants.”
“Return the Statue of Liberty,” Glucksmann said before supporters of his left-wing party, who applauded. “We gifted it to you, but it seems you despise it. So, it will be fine here at home.”
The claim is so absurd that it went viral, as the demand implies dismantling the statue in New York and transporting it piece by piece to France.

This is Karoline Leavitt's response to that:

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt countered, asserting that Trump “absolutely” would not return the statue, which was gifted by France to the United States nearly 140 years ago.
She then referred to Glucksmann as a “low-level” politician and referenced World War II.
“My advice to that anonymous low-level French politician would be to remind him that it is only thanks to the United States of America that the French are not speaking German right now,” Leavitt said. “So, they should be very grateful to our great country,” she added.
